Apparently this only works if you do exactly what they did in the video. Even weirder though is that I played Ms. Pac Man basically nonstop for 15 years, but I’ve never played Pac Man. Super Pac Man, and Pac Man jr, Baby Pac Man, and even the playable Google Doodle of Pac Man, yes sure. Many times each. But I never played the original stand up arcade version.
